The Yuppie is a term used to describe a young adult male in a proffesional job who works hard and partys just as hard. the Yuppie is represented in the TV show Family Ties.
Family ties was a sitcom running from 1982 to 1989 about a family epxressing the changes from the free thinking liberalism period before the 1980s to the concervative Ronlad Reagan era. This is represented throught the realitionship between the the parents, who are and their yuppie republican oldest son played by a young Michael J. Fox, named Alex. Even thought Alex is at high school in the beginning and then Colleage. He unlitmately ends up getting a job on Wall Street. So enecially Family ties is a story of how to get to a yuppie status.
